THE 9″ ELITE

The smallest size in the ELITE series, this coil has heightened sensitivity for the very small targets and provides an excellent option for re-visiting old patches as it will see the smaller targets left behind by the larger coils.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I PINPOINT WITH AN ELITE MONO COIL?

Coiltek reccomends the following method:

Pinpointing is basically the same as other coil configurations however the method of tilting the coil on its side for mono’s may not be the best with this new ELITE design.

Using the cross hairs method is more accurate. In this method you work up to the target found in a sweeping motion and listen for the loudest tone and visually note where the sound is heard under the coil.

Usually the loudest tone is quite central to the coil width. Mark the ground with your foot in a line along where you believe the target is. Now turn 90 degrees to this line and again slowly swing up to the target area and repeat the first method.

You should now have two lines which intersect. This intersection is a good way to dig in the right place.

If the target is out of the hole, spread the dirt from the dig with your shoe so it is has a flat surface and slowly swing over the area listening for the loudest tone to appear.

The most sensitive area of the coil is around one inch in from the edge of the coil plastics.

We also recommend you use a test piece on the ground and practice the technique listening for the most repeatable, responsive area of the coil so you become used to a method that works best for you.
