After years of using and destroying a range of beach sand scoops, it has become clear exactly what works and what doesn't. The Detect-Ed beach sand scoop is the product of this experience at the beach. 

SLICE THROUGH SAND FASTER & DEEPER

Digging through dry sand is no problem for any beach scoop, digging through wet sand is more difficult but doable for most sand scoops.  However, when the storms and low tides hit the beach and remove most of the sand, the conditions become much more challenging, yet this is when you REALLY need your scoop to work well for you.

As well as keeping the overall weight down, we have made three significant changes to this scoop over traditional metal detecting beach scoops. These changes are necessary to keep up with the performance/depth of modern metal detectors!

SHALLOW NOSE ANGLE

A very shallow nose angle with streamlined shoulders allows the scoop to be easily manoeuvred when cutting down through rocky and shelly substrates, where valuable and dense targets (like gold) are most often found.

Whether you're hitting the hardest, lowest layers of the beach with little or no sand on top or hunting in deep wet or dry sand layers, the Detect-Ed Sand Scoop makes recovery easy.

RECLINED HANDLE ANGLE

The handle angle has been reclined back further for much better ergonomics. This design allows you to dig more vertically and significantly deeper with ease every scoop, getting to deep targets much faster.

As any serious and experienced beach hunter will tell you, when conditions are the best they've ever been after a storm, you can be out digging for hours at a time. The improved verticality and ergonomics of the Detect-Ed Beach Scoops allows you to hunt for longer by requiring less effort and being more comfortable to use.

LONGER SCOOP BODY

We have made the body of the Detect-Ed beach scoop longer than most scoops. This bit of extra length is absolutely critical for retrieving deep targets with fewer scoops and also means you are far less likely to completely lose those deep targets.

This absolutely crucial when you're close to or in the water. As you try to retrieve the target from a hole that is constantly caving in, each time your scoop misses the target it sinks further and further away! A longer scoop body equals fewer scoops needed to retrieve each target and less chance of losing your next treasure before you've even dug it out.

SPEED & EFFECIENCY

If you want to find more treasure when detecting at the beach then a fast and efficient beach scoop is absolutely essential! By removing unnecessary material and utilizing a 100% carbon fiber handle, we have made the Detect-Ed Beach Sand scoop the lowest-weight scoop in its class. With excellent balance and minimal weight, it is now possible to dig faster and go detecting for longer.

DURABLE CONSTRUCTION

Like all serious beach scoops of this size, the Detect-Ed sand scoop utilise 2.00mm thick 304 stainless steel which provides far greater longevity over a 1.5mm construction.
With a mixture of riveting and quality welds, the Detect-Ed beach sand scoop has far greater structural integrity than scoops which are only welded.

The overall design philosophy of the scoop frame was to increase stainless material in vulnerable locations whilst adding extra holes where scoops do not normally fail. 

D-GRIP HANDLE

Unlike many beach scoops, the Detect-Ed scoop does not have a mini handle welded or bolted to the scoop itself. We have purposefully omitted the mini handles as they bottom out on the sand/rocks when digging deep holes yet they are seldom useful in real world beach detecting scenarios.

We have however opted for a D-Grip (shovel style) handle at the end of the carbon handle. This makes the scoop effortless to drag out of deep holes and its much easier on your wrist when you want to turn the scoop to dump the contents.

HIGHLY POLISHED FINISH

The near mirror finish on this beach scoop is not just for looks! The highly polished finish on the Detect-Ed Beach scoop is essential for minimising salt corrosion on the scoop. This shiny finish will greatly increase the life expectancy of the scoop especially if is washed off with fresh water after a day of treasure hunting.

CONVENIENT & PORTABLE

On top of being notably lightweight for it's size, the Detect-Ed Beach Sand Scoop can be quickly disassembled by un-clasping the D-Grip Handle and the Metal Scoop from the carbon fiber handle.

This makes our scoop quick and easy to transport and wash out when needed.
